🏹 வில்லாற்றலில் மிகுந்த ஆர்வம்

சிறு வயதிலிருந்தே கர்ணனுக்கு வில்லாற்றலில் மிகுந்த ஆர்வம் இருந்தது.

அர்ஜுனனைப் போலவே தானும் மிகச் சிறந்த வில்லாளியாக வேண்டும் என்று விரும்பினான்.

ஆனால் அவன் தேரோட்டியின் மகன் என்று கருதப்பட்டதால், பல இடங்களில் அவனுக்கு வாய்ப்புகள் மறுக்கப்பட்டன.

துரோணரிடம் கல்வி கற்க விரும்பியபோதும், அவனது பிறப்பைப் பற்றிய காரணங்களால் அவன் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படவில்லை.

இதனால் கர்ணன் மனம் தளரவில்லை.

பரசுராமரிடம் சென்று வில்வித்தையை கற்றுக்கொண்டான்.

ஒருநாள் கர்ணன் பிராமணன் என்று கூறி தன்னிடம் கல்வி கற்றதாக பரசுராமர் அறிந்தபோது கோபமடைந்தார். அந்தச் சூழலில், அவனுக்குத் தேவையான நேரத்தில் கற்றுக் கொண்ட ஒரு முக்கியமான அஸ்திர மந்திரத்தை மறந்துவிடும் சாபம் கர்ணனுக்கு கிடைத்ததாக மகாபாரதம் கூறுகிறது.
